Community Listing: Female lynx point Siamese mix
NOTE: This cat is in need from the community. This is listed as a courtesy, and the animal does not live at the Refuge. The Goathouse Refuge is not responsible for any problems with the animals or with the adoption process. Please contact the owner directly for more information.
9 year old lynx point Siamese mix cat needs a new home. This cat is located in Weaverville, NC.
This kitty and her brother (orange tabby) were brought to our office on 1/22/13, the Animal Hospital at Reems Creek in Weaverville, NC for euthanasia for urinating in the house. We obviously did not euthanize them, but now are in a situation where we cannot seek rescue for them locally, for obvious reasons. Both are doing fine using their boxes in their cages, and both a normal urinalysis.
The female is the gray one. According to her record, she will be 9 in March. She is overweight with a short tail. Had no significant findings on urinalysis. Rabies and Feline Leukemia vax are due July 2013 and FVRCP 3 year is due July 2015. She is frightened here and stays in her litter box most of the time. She is sweet and nice to us, just scared I think.

The older one is the orange one. The family said he is 20 years old. The vet said he is "an older cat." As you can see, he doesn't look like a sickly older cat! He is neutered and front declawed. He is a love bug, totally at the front of his cage at all times, ready for head-butting any chance he gets. Mr. Personality. In terms of medical, we had actually never seen him before, so I don't have a shot record. We did get a normal urinalysis, and as I mentioned, our intent was to do bloodwork on Friday, but we had the big ice storm and didn't want the blood to sit. I will ask the vet to order the bloodwork today. I can also take care of vax if you tell me what you would require with an older cat.

Oscar is a 10 year old brown and black tabby cat who needs a new home. Oscar weighs 10 lbs and is Indoor only. This cat is located in Elkin, NC 28621.
Oscar likes to sit next to us in the evenings and will pat at our arms to get some petting. He prefers quiet adults, especially those who provide food! He loves his canned food and playing in boxes and bags of any type. Oscar is a little shy - he will hide when strangers first come to the house but will eventually warm-up to people. Oscar was a stray and continues to be afraid of the outdoors - you never have to worry about his running out an open door. Please help this cat find a good home, I really wish that I could keep him but my health just will not let me. We will meet you with the cat if you can provide him a good home.

Beautiful and sweet. She now enters my home and helps herself to my cat's food dish. She lets me pet and hold her. She seems to get along in the colony at my house. She only hisses when she is eating and another cat tries to take it from her. She looks like an indoor cat but seems to prefer the out of doors mostly. She would be happy with regular food and protection from the elements and some TLC. She is beautiful!

This is a very sweet-natured cat whom I have fed since he was a kitten. He is shy and scared of sudden movements or noises, but when given a chance, will come up for petting and holding and will willingly walk into my house when I open the door. He needs to find a home with his orange brother who is more bold. They hang out together constantly. This cat is available with his brother either permanently, or until I can move in June and take them with me. This boy needs regular food (he has been fed since he was a kitten), and safe and decent shelter from the elements. He needs to find a home with his brother, who is solid black and also neutered, but shy. They are litter mates and hang out together constantly. This one is particularly friendly - coming in an out of my house when the door is open. He would be a very easy cat to have around as an indoor/outdoor, or just outdoor cat. He is curious and full of life - finding fun with any small object on the floor or movement of light. I am moving in June. If you are unable to keep he and his brother permanently, but can keep them until then, I will gladly take them off your hands and let them live permanently with me at that point.

Gray Girl is at Goathouse now
Gray Girl is a young gray long-haired tabby cat who needs a new home. She weighs 8 pounds and is Indoor only. Gray Girl is now living at Goathouse Refuge in Pittsboro, NC, and her adoption fee has been sponsored! Come meet her!
This little girl is very friendly and affectionate. She is playful and will make toys out of anything she finds, including leaves and post-it notes. She is social and people-oriented - for example, she's not allowed in the bedroom, so she will come sit in front of the bedroom door and put her paws under the door. However, she's also very quiet and generally only vocalizes little peeping sounds, and only when she sees that you are about to put food in her bowl.

Gremlin is at the Goathouse now
Gremlin is a 5 year old Tortie Maine Coon cat who needs a new home. Gremlin weighs 15 lbs and is Indoor only. This cat is located in Raleigh, NC 27614.
Gremlin is the sweetest cat we have ever had. She is a beautiful Maine Coon. We've had her since she was born. She is a loving loyal cat, a cuddle bug, loves to lay with you, and loves being held. She even lets my wife dress her up in little dresses. My wife and I recently had a baby and the baby is very allergic to Gremlin. It breaks our hearts to have to give her up. We want to find her a loving home, someone who is looking for a loyal companion and can provide her with a safe, caring environment. Gremlin also grew up with large breed dogs and is dog friendly. If you can adopt her, please let us know. We are running low on time and need to find her a home immediately. Thanks a lot.

Community Listing: Molly and Cali
NOTE: This cat is in need from the community. This is listed as a courtesy, and the animal does not live at the Refuge. The Goathouse Refuge is not responsible for any problems with the animals or with the adoption process. Please contact the owner directly for more information.
Molly (grey) and Cali (calico) are two 6 year old cats who need a new home. Molly and Cali weigh 7-8 lbs and are Indoor only. They are located in Raleigh, NC 27603.
Molly is shy but sweet. She is half Siamese (does not look Siamese). She is mostly grey with some slight orange mixed in. She gets so happy for morning wet food she meows quietly but emphatically. For a stretch I kept her isolated in my bedroom (away from a bully cat) and she liked to sleep next to my head and sometimes lick my hair.
California (Cali) is the sister to Molly and is also shy but sweet. She is black, white and orange. She would prefer a quiet home as she startles easily. She does not show much interest in wet food. She is not overly affectionate but will stand next to you in hopes of a good petting from time to time. If she has not received enough petting she will politely pull your hand back towards her chin. (Molly will too) Neither cat is aggressive. Both are very good about litter boxes, both are very slim and very healthy. It will take some patience to let them warm up but their sweet little natures make it worth it. Would greatly prefer if they were together. Can provide pictures.
Molly and Cali is good with Cats: Yes, Dogs: No, Kids: Unknown

Reason for surrender: I live in a condo with 7 cats, all rescues. I have actively worked with Safehaven for cats on about 10 local ferals. Cat interactions are of course complex, and these two are so shy they get bullied by some of the others. I am the only person who can pet them so attempts to meet potential adopters went poorly. I think they would be happiest in a larger living environment with people who will keep an eye on ensuring they will eat.
How did you acquire: Very shy feral kittens that nobody would adopt
How long owned: 6 years
