Jacob is a 6 year old Orange cat who needs a new home. Jacob weighs 10-15 pounds. This cat is located in Clayton, NC 27527.
Jacob is a very loving cat. He loves to curl up on a bed and sleep the day away. He also loves to be outside and play. He is new to being an outdoor cat so he doesn't know all the "rules" or have all the street smarts that most outside cats have. I think the ideal home would be someone who needs a good mouser and has some property for him to run on. Not a home near a highway. He likes to come and go as he pleases so a cat door would be good for him.

Are you the owner: Yes
Reason for surrender: When we adopted him we wanted an indoor only cat and he has wanted to be an outdoor cat. He has recently started to urinate on all our furniture until we allowed him to be an outdoor cat. Since it is cold outside we do allow him back in at night. He is a sweet cat that sleeps on my son's bed. Which is our other problem. My son is allergic to cats and that is another reason to find him a home that is better suited to him.
How did you acquire: We adopted him

Community Listing: Nutella
Nutella is a halloween cat! She was very badly wanted but her behavior is making it very challenging for us to keep her. She is sweet, quiet and loves to cuddle but on her own terms. She does not like to be held for extended periods of times. He favorite past-time is lounging on her perch in front of the window. She enjoys going out in the balcony to get fresh air and look at the squirrels on the trees nearby. She is currently with a lion-cut and currently wears nail caps.

Are you the owner: no - she showed up on our doorstep several days ago - we have posted flyers and went door-to-door to locate an owner. We're informed by neighbors that she is a stray.
Reason for surrender: We have two cats and one dog in the household right now. One cat is close to 20 yrs old and in renal failure. Both my husband and I were laid off from our jobs this past year and are squeaking by on a tight budget (with three kids to feed in addition to the current pets). We would love to keep her because she has such a sweet disposition, but with the possibility of losing our housing by this summer due to lack of work, we don't feel it would be appropriate to adopt her at this time.
How did you acquire: She came to our door and walked right in when we opened it (hearing her meow). She made herself right at home.

Community Listing: Pumpkin
This cat was clearly feral when he first came to me. I have been working with him every day to socialize him to become adoptable. I trapped him, had him neutered and given a rabies shot, and ear-cropped. Over time, he has become extremely friendly not only with me, but with my kids. He now lets me pick him up, and he tries to get into the house ALL the time! He is ready for a permanent loving home and family. The ideal situation would be someone who is familiar with shy cats, and a home where he can have access to the outdoors. He would make a great barn cat, but also craves love and attention from humans.

I feel he's ready for a permanent home, and as I have 4 cats already, I cannot keep him (husband's rules). He needs to be fostered where he has access to the outdoors, as that is all he has known. Your facility is the only place I know of that will do that. He has the potential to be a wonderful family pet!!
How did you acquire: He showed up in my neighborhood about 6-7 months ago, and I started feeding him.

Community Listing: Miracle and 7 kittens
Miracle is the mom and she has 2 babies, one black one white one. Both are a little over 2 months. Miracle also has 5 newborn babies, 3 white and 2 black. These cats could not be seperated being that all the babies are still so young. So the ideal home would be someone who could take all 8 cats and be a loving home.

Reason for surrender: My son has gotten MRSA staph infection back in July and is suseptable to infections from scratches he receives. He is 17 months old and VERY curious and I am fearful with his allergies. Lilly is an indoor cat, however, she snuck out through our garage approx 3 weeks ago and I do not want her back in the house until she is seen by a vet, however, we just cannot afford to take her. I just don't feel our home is best for her with my son's allergies. Although cats are great pets, my son's well being is what we are most concerned about. We have tried many shelters but of course all are at capacity and right now Lilly is still outside as I dont feel comfortable letting her back in.

Isabella is a 6 year old Gray cat who needs a new home. Isabella weighs 11 lbs and is Indoor only. This cat is located in Durham NC 27707.
Isabella is beautiful, unique cat. She likes to spend her time looking out the window, and sitting in her owner's lap. Shy at first. But will warm up over time. Likes a good rubbing, but not a cat that likes to be carried around. She and my other cat were having pee wars. However my male cat was the more obvious offender. She may have also contributed. Would be great as an only pet. Or perhaps with another low key cat. Though she is shy at first, I suspect she would like to be the alpha animal. Indoors only. Please consider adopting her. To keep the peace I am boarding her at the vets. You can visit her anytime at Triangle Vets on Old Chapel Hill Rd. Durham NC 919-489-2391. I am co-owner of Isabella with Dr. Mari Juergenson.

Community Listing: Mr Kitty
Mr Kitty is a wonderful cat. He is around 4yrs old. He is great around other cats/dogs. Mr Kitty does like kids however not any children under 5 yrs old. Every child that has been around him under 5 has always grabbed him too hard and tends to choke him. Of course I do not allow this to happen but my one year old nephew is fast. Mr Kitty has to be an indoor/outdoor cat. He is not happy unless he can go outside. He Kitty has had issues going outside and fighting with stray cats or squarels. He really preferrs to be outside mostly but comes back every day or sometimes the next morning and eat, sleep, then back outside he goes. I absolutely LOVE Mr Kitty however I don't want to neglect him because of my own selfishness. I think the ideal home for Mr Kitty is definately somewhere he can be outside just as much as inside.
