Cat of the Week: Lucky

Lucky came to the refuge in February 2012 along with six other experienced house cats whose owner lost her home and could no longer keep her pets. He's a handsome young tabby-and-white fellow with fantastic markings and a gentle personality. Change isn't easy for kitties; Lucky was sad and scared at first but he's doing his best to fit in at the refuge and make new human friends. He would be so happy to get a second chance at having a forever home, and it would be even better if he were adopted with one of his best friends/ family members (Fred, Bimbo, Ziggy, or Hank). Come meet this sweet boy soon. DOB 2010.

Cat of the Week: Nikko

Nikko is a bright-eyed and shiny black kitty with a white locket on his chest. He can be a little bit timid when you first meet him, but it doesn't take much time or effort to make friends with the little guy (he loves to play with dangling toys!). Nikko came to the Goathouse from a now-closed no-kill shelter in South Carolina, and he's used to living indoors-only with lots of other cats. He would really love to have a family and forever home of his very own where he can get lots of affection and playtime and be someone's special cat rather than just another black cat in the crowd.   Come meet him soon! DOB 2010.

Cat of the Week: Charlie

Beautiful Charlie is so friendly and out-going that you can't help but fall in love with her! She's a brown tabby teenage girl with fluffy fur like a Maine Coon. Charlie is very curious about her surroundings and eager to make friends with people. She loves to play with toys, and sit on people's laps and be loved. Charlie spent the first six months of her life living in an indoor-only home until her owner surrendered her because she couldn't take care of her. So Charlie is an experienced house cat who really deserves a second chance at having a forever home. Come meet this sweet baby doll soon! Approx DOB May 2011

Cat of the Week: Joshy

Joshy is a cat with a lot of heart and soul. He's an extremely handsome tabby with speckled markings and a long face that makes him look like an Egyptian temple cat. And what a friendly and affectionate fellow he is! This sweet boy is so grateful for any pettting and attention he receives.  Joshy loves people, loves other cats, and would really love to have a home and family of his very own. Come meet this incredibly nice fellow soon -  he's a dreamboat. DOB 6/2009.

Cat of the Week: Winnie

This tiny fluffy girl looks like a kitty from a fairy tale. Winnie is a beautiful, sweet Persian-mix who is friendly and very talkative, and gets along with other cats. She is front declawed, so she needs to find a home that is strictly indoor-only. Winnie is a former house cat who was given up due to her owner's allergies. She's not that happy at the refuge and is intimidated by all the other cats running around. Winnie really wants to be someone's special house cat  and best friend again. She will be so grateful to you if you come take her to a peaceful home where she can relax and forget all her worries. Come meet this pretty baby girl soon! Approx DOB 2003

Cat of the Week: Shelby

If you're looking for a lapcat, then gorgeous Shelby is your girl! This very affectionate cat loves nothing more than to get in a warm lap and snuggle. And wait until you hear her prize-winning purr! Shelby is friendly and out-going, and when a refuge visitor sits down, odds are that Miss Shelby will be in that lap in about two seconds flat. No empty laps when Shelby is around!

And what a beauty she is - a sleek and elegant kitty with bright eyes and glossy black fur. She's an experienced house cat whose owner could no longer take care of her, and you can tell that Shelby really knows what it’s like to love and be loved by humans. Change isn’t easy for kitties, and being around so many other cats at the refuge makes Shelby grumpy sometimes, but when people are around, she turns on the charm. Shelby really wants to be someone's special little house cat again so she can provide unconditional love and cuddles to a person of her very own. Please give this sweet girl a second chance at having a forever home. DOB 2007

Cat of the Week: Bisou

"Bisou” is French for “kiss” and that’s what you’ll want to do when you meet this adorable teenage tabby girl. Tiny Bisou came to the refuge last fall from a public shelter; she was scared and shy at first but she’s doing much better now. This gentle and sweet girl absolutely loves other cats; we often find her cuddling with her kitty friends in the Romper Room where all our kittens live.

She would love to be adopted with Mandy or one of the other kittens, or go to a home with friendly cats who will snuggle and play with her. Bisou is getting more beautiful each day - she has some of the most amazing emerald green eyes you’ve ever seen. Come meet her soon! DOB Spring/Summer 2011.

Cats of the Week: Lionel and Cracker Jack

Update: These boys have been adopted together!

Lionel and Cracker Jack have formed an unlikely but beautiful friendship. They aren’t relatives and even though both of them were rescued from the same kill shelter, they didn’t meet until they came to the Goathouse and were next-door cage neighbors.

Lionel is a darling little Siamese-mix kitten, very playful and friendly, and Cracker Jack is a happy-go-lucky orange/white adult male who makes happy paws when you merely look at him.

Lionel kept pawing at Cracker Jack’s cage, trying to play, so we moved them in together. Cracker Jack took little Lionel under his wing just like a mama cat would, grooming, cuddling, and romping with the little guy. They are best friends, and we simply can’t split them up now. We hope they will be adopted together soon! Lionel DOB June 2011; Cracker Jack Approx. DOB 2008-2009.
