Cat of the Week: Boo

What a handsome laid-back dude! Boo came to us in March 2012 along with his girlfriend, Hazel, and their three kittens. The kittens have been adopted, Boo's parenting days are over, and now he can concentrate on being a special companion for some lucky family. Boo is a sweet and affectionate boy with gorgeous grey velvet fur and bright green eyes. This charming cat has an amazing ability to power nap no matter what is going on around him, and he always wakes up in a good mood!  Come meet Boo soon.  DOB 2010.

Happy Tails: Mercedes & Remendado (formerly Frasquita)

Summer sent us some a couple of photos of her new babies.

"They have made themselves completely at home and are as sweet as ever. They love to gallup from one end or our house to the other, as well as sit in our laps in the evening as we watch a movie. Mercedes actually watches the movie with us while Remendado is content to bathe or sleep."

Cat of the Week: Honeybun

Honeybun is a cute little calitabby girl who used to be very shy but has become friendly! Now she is part of the group of  "meet and greet" cats who welcome visitors to the refuge. She'll follow you around waiting for petting, and she loves treats. Honeybun is a mostly brown tabby with an orange spot on top of her head (some people call a spot like this a fairy kiss!). Her round face and chubby cheeks make her extra adorable. Honeybun came to the refuge in 2008 with several other cats from Duplin County, NC. She's been waiting a long time, and we would love to see Honeybun find a family and home of her very own. Approx DOB 2007.

Cat of the Week: Fred

Fred came to the Goathouse in February 2012 along with six other adult male cats. He's an experienced house cat whose owner lost her home and could no longer take care of her pets.  Fred is an adorable and talkative guy with great markings and amazing eyebrows! This sweet and endearing boy would love to be adopted with one of the other members of his family (Bimbo, Lucky, Hank, or Ziggy). All of these kitties deserve a second chance at having a forever home. DOB July 2008.

Cat of the Week: Mandy

What a beauty! Mandy has gorgeous blue/grey fur and amazing green eyes. She and her siblings arrived at the refuge in September 2011; these three kittens were very scared and shy at first. Mandy is still a little bit shy and could really use a patient human friend to help her continue to come out of her shell. Mandy loves to play and cuddle with other cats, and she would be so happy to be adopted with her brother, Mike, or to go to a home with another sweet kitty who will be her buddy. Anyone who has ever adopted a shy kitty knows how rewarding it is to see them relax and learn to trust and love.  Come meet Mandy soon!  Approx DOB April 2011.

Cat of the Week: Gizmo

Gizmo came to the refuge in April 2012 from the county shelter, where he had been surrendered by his previous owner. He's a sweet, friendly, fluffy boy with a chocolate brown face, paws and tail, and sparkling blue eyes. His paperwork indicates that he may be part Himalayan, but we don't know that for sure. Either way, he's a head turner! This experienced house cat is looking for a kind human friend who will give him a second chance at having a forever home. Come meet Gizmo soon! Approx DOB 2007
