UPDATE 1/24/12: Kindred Spirits Wildlife Center is delighted to report that the macaw will be going to a great rescue where he will be in the hands of qualified individuals. He will be cared for, his health looked after, and once he is doing well, he will be available for adoption. Anyone who was interested in taking him that might still be interested can put in an application once he is ready. Please contact KSWC directly if you are interested.
Blue and gold macaw located in Alamance County, NC, needs a new home immediately. His owner passed away and his elderly wife is unable to care for the bird.
He needs either:
- someone familiar with these birds who is willing and able to provide this macaw with rest-of-his-life care
- someone who can donate a good quality macaw cage. He has a possible foster home lined up but needs a proper cage.
